HELP US PROVIDE FREE LEGAL ASSISTANCE FOR VETERANS:
For several years, the Boone County Bar Association has hosted its annual Chipping in for Charity Golf Tournament. With the help of generous sponsors, supporters, and participants, $21,210.98 was raised for Mid-Missouri Legal Services (“MMLS”) at the 2024 tournament. The tournament has raised $222,126.11 for charity since its inception.
This year’s tournament is just around the corner and our goal is to surpass the 2024 tournament’s fundraising efforts. The net proceeds from this year’s tournament will be donated to MMLS, which has provided free legal services to those in need in our community since 1978. MMLS intends to use the funds raised by the tournament for its Veterans Law Project, which it launched in mid-2013. Since then, MMLS has provided legal representation to 653 veterans and their families and has assisted another 1,954 veterans by providing them with pertinent legal information and referrals.
With the funds raised by this year’s tournament, MMLS intends to continue expanding its Veterans Law Project and to assist even more veterans. MMLS has had great success through meeting with veterans at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital. The funds raised by the tournament will help MMLS to continue to provide these valuable services and are vital to MMLS’ efforts to assist veterans in our community.
