Chippenham Film Festival returns to Reel Cinema Chippenham from Tuesday 8th to Sunday 13th September 2026, bringing five specially chosen films to the big screen across four days of screenings, live introductions and community celebrations.

This year's festival includes an exclusive live Q&A with Director Rob Petit, following the Thursday 10th September screening of his acclaimed documentary 'Underland', described as a “cinematic voyage beneath the surface of the Earth”. This will be hosted by Nick Freand Jones, the producer of Moviedrome and Mark Kermode's Secrets of Cinema.

The Saturday 12th screening of 'Urchin', Harris Dickinson's Cannes-winning drama about a rough sleeper, is presented in partnership with Doorway Wiltshire, with representatives from the charity introducing the film and speaking about its work supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in the Chippenham area. All proceeds from individual ticket sales for this screening will go to Doorway Wiltshire.

A new addition to the programme for this year is a film soundtrack album listening night at the Old Road Tavern on Wednesday 9th September. This will be a relaxed evening for film and music lovers to bring along their favourite soundtrack, score or film-related LP (or CD), put them on the turntable and swap stories over a drink. This will take place in the Tavern’s barn, starting at 7.30pm. For a voluntary charitable donation, your treasured vinyl LP can also be cleaned and optionally housed in a new audiophile inner and polythene outer.

The full festival programme is:

Tuesday 8th September, 7.30pm – 'I'm Still Here' (15), directed by Walter Salles. Winner of the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.

Wednesday 9th September, 7.30pm - Film Soundtrack Album Listening Event at the Old Road Tavern
