Please join Chip Albright and Friends for an album release party on Friday, January 3rd, 2025. Chip will be releasing his latest album "Per Aspera" on all digital platforms the same day. Recorded in Des Moines by Dan Tedesco, Chip is excited to share these songs and stories of perseverance in a listening room environment.
Greta Akers will kick off the evening's festivities. Greta is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Des Moines. She just released her sophomore album, “Always Your Girl” this year. Greta is influenced by artists like Adele, Brandi Carlile, and Ingrid Michaelson.
Jason Walsmith Storyteller will perform a solo set chronicling his adventures and insights as a Racontourist. Jason's storied music career, as both a singer-songwriter and co-founder of Iowa's folk-rock legends The Nadas, has taken him all over North America creating magic and connection with audiences everywhere.
Chip Albright will be joined on stage by his wife; Jen Albright on accordion and keys, Sean Sullivan of the Black Dirt Ramblers on mandolin and mandola, and Mike Irwin (formerly of the 14o8 and $trick9 & the Truth) thumping the bass.
Start the year off right supporting local music, peruse the Guitar Satchel collection on hand and spend an intimate evening with fellow supporters of local music in xBk Live's beautiful listening room environment in the Drake Neighborhood. Join Chip et al before the show for some Friday After Class fun at Lucky Horse Restaurant (2331 University). You will also have the chance to win Lucky Horse gift cards throughout the night during the show.
