About this Event
Chinese Painting to celebrate the Lunar New Year
Each ticket includes a complimentary drink to enjoy, you can choose from barista hot drinks, a selection of beers, no and low alcohol options, wine and soft drinks.
Join us in Manchester where we will teach you some Chinese Brush painting techniques. You will use materials such as Bamboo Brushes, Sumi Ink and Mineral Paints. Painting Lunar New Year themed topics onto rice paper and finally onto the choice of a rice paper fan or rice paper scroll as you see in the photos here.
The duration of this workshop is 2.5 hours and it will be broken down into seperate secions where we will teach you how to paint different topics relating to the lunar new year. Each session begins with a demonstration from local artist Ula Fung.
Floating Art is a small independant and local arts business that has been in Manchester for 8 years now. Ula has over 15 years worth of teaching experience in teaching people of all ages and all levels.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and up so if you haven't picked up a paint brush since school or you regularly paint in your own time, everybody is welcome to create together.

This Workshop is located at Manchester's trending Foodhall - House Of Social. A drink will be included within your ticket but you can make a day of it by purchasing food from one of their 5 independent kitchens or drinks from their bar.
Knowledge required
• Beginner friendly - all levels welcome.
Materials (all provided)
• Chinese mineral paint, ink, rice paper, felt mats, rice paper fans or rice paper scrolls
What you'll get:
• All of the equipment and materials needed for your class.
• Protective equipment such as aprons.
What to bring
• Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on.
• A carrying bag to take your artworks home.
