Chinese New Year Celebration 2026 in Manchester Central Library-Sunday

Bowen Education is delighted to invite families, children, schools, and the wider community to join us at Manchester Central Library for one of the city’s biggest and most joyful celebrations of the year – Chinese New Year Sunday Funday, welcoming the Year of the Horse 🐎

As a key community partner, Bowen Education will be leading and contributing to a full day of performances, hands-on cultural activities, creative workshops, and family-friendly experiences.

Bowen Education Stage Performances
Enjoy a lively programme of performances by local schools and community groups, featuring dance, music, and creative interpretations of Chinese culture and traditions – proudly curated and coordinated by Bowen Education.

2:00 – 4:00pm
Crafts by Bowen Education – free creative workshops designed especially for children and families

• Free arts & crafts workshops for children
• Children’s artwork display – a special Chinese New Year exhibition
• Hanfu photo booth – try on traditional Chinese costumes and take photos
• Chinese calligraphy station – have your name written in Chinese brush calligraphy

Need a quieter moment?
A quiet space will be available in the Music Library (First Floor) from 11:30am – 4:00pm.

💖 Donations are welcome and can be made online or via cash/contactless donation boxes in Central Library.
