Chinese Lunar New Year at Mandarin Oriental, Boston

Lion Dance Celebration: The festivities will begin with a vibrant traditional Lion Dance performance, presented by the Wah Lum Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy. Accompanied by the lively beats of drums and cymbals and musicians to celebrate the Year of the Horse. The Lion Dance has been part of Chinese culture for thousands of years and is performed on auspicious occasions such as the Chinese New Year to chase away evil spirits and bring happiness, longevity, and good luck. This centuries-old cultural tradition will take place in the hotel’s Main Lobby on Wednesday, February 11 at 12 PM. Members of the media are invited to gather images and b-roll of the lively lion dance.
