Chinese language workshop for UEBS staff

The Confucius Institute is offering 2 in-person Chinese language taster workshops for colleagues in the Business School to support better connection with Chinese students and colleagues. There are 2 dates to choose from and 12 spaces in each session.

This two-hour workshop is a brief introductory session for learners with no prior knowledge of the Chinese language. The workshop is designed for colleagues at the University of Edinburgh. It guides learners through basic expressions commonly used in typical conversational situations. Pronunciation and communicative practice will be the focus of this session, including how to pronounce Chinese names and when to use first and last names. By the end of the workshop, colleagues will have started to tune in to the sounds and tones of the Chinese language and learn some basic phrases used for social interaction.
