Welcome to a relaxed and beginner-friendly workshop with Sidney Kong inspired by Chinese flower-and-bird painting.
In this workshop, participants will get to try traditional Chinese painting materials such as rice paper, ink, and soft brushes. There will be a short introduction and a simple step-by-step demonstration before everyone paints their own round fan, also known as tuanshan. The round fan has a long history in Chinese culture and offers a beautiful and special way to experience Chinese painting techniques.
No previous experience is needed. This workshop is open to anyone who is curious about painting, interested in trying new materials, or would like to explore a different artistic tradition. Each participant will make their own painted fan to take home.
