In this hands-on culinary class, students will learn to prepare traditional Chinese congee with youtiao, a beloved comfort breakfast that highlights the beauty of simplicity and texture. Participants will master the technique of slowly simmering rice into a silky, velvety porridge while exploring how starch transformation creates its signature consistency. We’ll top our congee with soft-cooked egg, herbs, and a spicy condiment (optional).
