Chinatown CDC Youth Program 35th Anniversary
About this Event
You are cordially invited to celebrate 35 years of youth-led and youth-run community development, Chinatown-style.
Chinatown CDC's youth programs, including Adopt-An-Alley (AAA), YSRO, and Chinatown Alley Tours (CATs), have been organizing and guiding our next generation to engage and create their own community for the future. We invite all current youth program participants, alumni, and Chinatown CDC patrons to commemorate this special occasion.
We are also looking forward to the next chapter of the program, with the launch of the CCDC Youth Legacy campaign to fundraise for our programs and support the next generation of leaders.
This is a family-friendly event.
Adopt-An-Alleyway is celebrating 35 years for their youth-run youth-led programming from street cleaning to Work-A-Thon and intergeneration activities from young kids to elderly. Wholeheartedly serving the Chinatown community.
Chinatown Alleyway Tour ran by youth leaders who want to share their stories about San Francisco Chinatown through their lens and living experiences. 25 years of legacy with multigenerational lineage through their mentor and mentee program, each tour guide is an expert in their own way in telling their stories about Chinatown alleyways.
Youth for Single Room Occupancy (YSRO), hitting their 20 years milestone from providing disaster preparedness workshop for residents living in SRO, food pantry distribution, arts and crafts with seniors, to nowadays teaching digital literacy to monolingual families and seniors. Each step of the way builds the foundation for a better and safer community.
Campaign Academy, 20 years of youth-ledadvocacy. Youth had successfully advocated for Ethnic Studies to be added into SFUSD's school curriculum, Free Muni for Youth, Seniors, and People with Disabilities, and fighting for all Chinatown main corridors to have pedestrian scramble system. The program educates youth to become leaders in their community to speak up for themselves, families, and community.
