On 14th February we continue our journey of exploration into what's possible in Food and Drink Tourism (in the Chilterns and elsewhere) off of the back of a fantastic day's launch on the 8th November.A benchmark is set and we'll continue striving to provide the most exciting day possible, by highlightimg the best of what the Chilterns has to offer.
For the 14th Feb, the day's itinerary mirrors that of our first - it went that well. As a reminder, see the play-by-play below -
🌳 A spectacular ealk around Whiteleaf Cross, nature abundent with Beech trees - a steady hand guiding us in Alex @alex_uk_bushcraft - full of knowledge and useful tips
🐑 there is an exciting and growing movement of artisans with purpose. We'll meet Ricky @blocknbutcher for an educational talk about how they prepare their cuts and what they look for as they source their meat - local/native and grass fed
🥗 our 2-course scrumptious lunch will have an emphasis on seasonal ingredients, locally sourced, courtesy of @oxmoorfarm. Where the principles echo our own - transparency, relationships with producers and with integrity
🧀 🍷 we then be discussing the intricacies of cheese with the very knowledgeable James @no2poundst @therealcheeseproject. Access to the dark room where experimental cheeses are maturing and then on to experience the flavour profiles of 5 different cheeses alongside a wine pairing and additional condiments. James is a champion of the slow food movement and focuses on smaller, British artisans.
We are spoilt for choice in the Chilterns - and the first tour cemented the possibility of what can be achieved. Like-minded people on a similar journey.
