Experience the energy, creativity, and adrenaline of hip-hop battle culture as dancers compete from the pre-selection rounds through to the finals. Rooted in a spirit of exchange and self-improvement, this event brings together hip hop and street dance artists to challenge one another through improvisation under the watchful eye of Judges; Anwar (Nanaimo), Barnes (Texas), Robozilla (California). Dancers are adjudicated on their originality, musicality, technical skill, and high-energy performances. MC Deeya, with DJ Oscar, keeps things moving as we celebrate the essence of hip-hop through performance, connection, and competition.
EXHIBITION BATTLES not to be missed!
REGISTRANTS: Get ready for a one-on-one dance battle featuring three categories:
• Popping
• Hip-Hop
• Open Styles
• Upon arrival, you’ll sign up for your categories and receive a number.
• Prelims will be showcase or battle-style, depending on the organizer’s decision that day.
• Each dancer gets 30 seconds to show why they belong in the main bracket.
• Judges will select the Top 16 dancers per category.
• From there, it’s single-elimination battles until one champion remains in each style.
