Chili Oil Lab: Build Your Own Chili Oil ️

Ever wondered why some chili oils are just hot, while others are deeply fragrant, balanced, and addictive?

In this small-group, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own custom chili oil from scratch — tailored to your heat tolerance and flavor preferences.

This class is intentionally capped at 6 people per session to keep it personal, interactive, and safe while working with hot oil.

We’ll start by exploring the building blocks of great chili oil:

• Different types of chili peppers (heat vs aroma)
• Oil choices and how they affect flavor
• Supporting spices and aromatics
• Why temperature control matters

You’ll smell, taste, and compare ingredients so you understand why certain chili oils taste better than others.

Before cooking, you’ll design your own chili oil:

• Mild, medium, or spicy
• Fragrant, smoky, numbing, or savory
• Clean heat vs deep umami

No two chili oils will be the same.

We’ll walk through the entire process step-by-step:

• Heating oil safely and correctly
• Blooming spices without burning
• Pouring technique for maximum aroma
• Final seasoning and adjustments

Each guest will make one batch of chili oil and bottle it into:

To finish, we’ll cook a simple ramen to show how a well-made chili oil can elevate even plain noodles.

A good chili oil should taste incredible all on its own.
