Our beloved annual fundraiser - Chili & Chowder with a Chance for Chocolate - is on Saturday, Feb. 14, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the Ice and Spice Winter Weekend in downtown Wellsboro! What a purrrfect Valentine's date! We're again teaming up with a bunch of fabulous local businesses (15 last year; this year's will be announced soon), who will concoct and serve up delicious chili and chowder for your tasting pleasure. With the purchase of a tasting passport for $10, you'll get to visit each of these sites to sample their creations, AND enter to win a chocolate-themed gift basket unique to each site. Your passport comes with a map, and signs outside will mark each site, all downtown within walking distance. When you're done tasting, cast your vote for your three favorite dishes to recognize the hardworking local chefs.
Passports can be purchased Feb. 9-13 at the Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce or on Feb. 14 during the event in front of Penn Oak Realty, 65 Main St., Wellsboro. Only a limited number of passports will be sold, so get yours early!
All proceeds benefit local homeless, abandoned and at-risk dogs and cats we help at Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries, as well as programs we offer to help keep pets in their loving homes.
There's more going on in Wellsboro that day for the Ice and Spice Winter Weekend, including ice carvings on Main Street, a Valentines Cabaret by Hamilton Gibson Productions, ice skating, horse-drawn carriage rides and more!
