📚 School is underway! We love books, we love authors, we love we inclusion, and we love connecting our market with community!Did you know September 16-27 was World Mitochondrial Disease week? It’s dedicated to improving the lives of people living with mito and educating the public and healthcare professionals about the disease. And look what author from right here in Jackson will be joining us!
“I am Sierra Carter, a mother, wife, author, photographer and EMT! My son Carter, passed away when he was 7 years old, in 2016 after a difficult battle with Mitochondrial Disease. I write children’s books of true stories from his life to help children learn the importance of inclusion and acceptance. I have published 4 short stories and plan to publish 1 more to complete the series. I also have a daughters, Lily (13) and Nola (10). I got married 4 years ago and by beautiful coincidence my last name changed to Carter. I am a Michigan native who will forever chase beautiful sunsets and rainbows, where I feel the closest to my sweet son.”
Sierra will be with us in person September 19 and she will have copies of her entire Carter series on hand! Pick up copies for yourself, your favorite teacher, or your classroom… With an autograph to boot!
