Children's Workshop - Dream House Activity
Our only children's workshop of the summer. July 16.
Welcome to Mae Schneider, @mae schneider who is the instructor, an art student at MECA, and full of fun ideas.
The project? To design your very own dream house.
This is a fun workshop which encourages thinking outside the "box" as well as including a brief intro into a few styles of architecture.
Students will be asked to create solutions of space and function as they ask themselves,
"If you could have any kind of house, what would it look like?"
Would it have trap doors? Slides? Floor to ceiling books?
They will draw make-believe interior and exterior spaces based on what they consider to be fun, useful, comfortable and interesting. A few prompting questions will be offered along the way along with open ended possibilities.

About the instructor:
Mae Schneider is an emerging artist and educator entering her senior year at Maine College of Art & Design. She is studying Illustration, with a focus on painting, hand lettering, and ink work, and is especially drawn to portraiture, light, shadow, and the way form comes to life through observation.
She has also taught art workshops for children in Maine public schools.
