Children's Theater in the Garden: "Where the Wild Things Are"
Let the wild rumpus start! This is a 5 class series where children will learn about storytelling, puppetry, and performance as we bring the tale of Max and the wild things to life. Students will create and perform their own version of Maurice Sundak's Where the Wild Things Are outside in the garden.
When: Sundays from 9:30am–Noon

- April 12 (Performance at noon)
Class Rehearsals: 9:30am- noon
Performance: Sunday, April 12 at noon
Cost: $125 (5 class series)
Age: 8–12 years old (parent/guardians are not required to stay onsite)
Meeting location: Discovery Barn at Mead Garden (building behind the public restrooms along the shell stone path)
About the instructor: Sage Tokach is an assistant professor in the Theatre for Young Audiences department at the University of Central Florida, where she received her MFA in 2022. In Orlando, Sage works as a guest director at Orlando Family Stage and coordinates the Jeanette M Gould Traveling Theater, which brings arts programming to local children’s hospitals. She has worked as an education director, teaching artist, and guest director at organizations across the country, including the New London Barn Playhouse, Maples Repertory Theatre, Missoula Children’s Theatre, and the state parks system. Sage is on a mission to visit every national park (she’s reached 33 so far) and embraces every opportunity to combine her love of the outdoors with theatre and performance. In any project, Sage is interested in creating a learning space where students of all ages are encouraged to explore, share ideas, and ask challenging questions.
