About this Event

Future sessions include Fauvism & Color Expression (March), Impressionism and Brush Strokes (April), Sculpture and 3-D Art (May), Pop Art: Bold and Bright Creations (June), Abstract Art Exploration (July), and Surrealism and Dream Worlds (August).

MARCH 28th, 2025 - Fauvism & Color Expression

APRIL 18th, 2025 - Impressionism & Brush Strokes
Info: Theme: Exploring light, color, and dynamic brushstrokes to capture a scene.
Activity: Kids will create a quick, impressionistic painting using broad, expressive brushstrokes. Focus on capturing the “feeling” of a scene, like a garden, sunset, or tree, with vibrant colors and visible brushstrokes—rather than details or precision. Use watercolors or acrylics on canvas or thick paper to explore the spontaneous, free-flowing style of Impressionism.
Discuss how famous Impressionist artists (like Monet or Renoir) painted everyday moments,
emphasizing color and light.
🕑: 04:00 PM - 05:30 PM
MAY 30th, 2025 - Sculpture & 3-D Art
Info: Theme: Working with 3D materials and creating sculptural art.

Learn about famous sculptors (like Rodin or Calder) and challenge kids to create their own versions of a sculptural work.

🕑: 04:00 PM - 05:30 PM
JULY 25th, 2025 - Abstract Art Exploration
Info: Mold sculptures from air-dry clay, focusing on detailed textures and proportions (this could also be something like creating abstract sculptures using wire, foam, or even recycled materials). 🕑: 04:00 PM - 05:30 PM
AUGUST 29th, 2025 - Surrealism & Dream Worlds
Info: Theme: Creating imaginative, dream-like art with unexpected combinations.
Activity: Kids will create surrealistic art by combining everyday objects in unusual ways. They will focus on blending reality with the fantastical. Kids will sketch a surreal scene, using mixed media to create dream-inspired imagery—animals, objects, or landscapes in unusual contexts.
Briefly introduce surrealism and artists like Dalí and Magritte, explaining how it explores dreams and the subconscious. Encourage kids to think of strange, imaginative combinations of objects and places.
