About this Event
Children and Young People’s Poetry Writing Workshop with Sarah Fae
Time and date: 2:00pm to 3:00pm Saturday 27th September 2025
Venue: Allendale Library
A poetry workshop for children and young people at Allendale Library. This event is a part of Spoken Word at the Allen Valleys Folk Festival. It is a free event but places are limited, so booking via the link below is recommended.
Sarah Fae lives in a chapel on Hadrian’s Wall and spends her time writing in rhythm and rhyme, practicing/teaching yoga and studying for a Masters in Cultural Astronomy.
Sarah published her first children’s book ‘Ghost the Christmas Stag’ in December 2020. ‘Ghost’ was written after her experiences with a real wild white albino Roebuck in the forest she frequents.
Her next story ‘Rainbow Brain,’ was published in September 2024, and is born from her late diagnosis of autism. ‘Rainbow’ aims to empower neurodivergent children in mainstream classrooms, so expect a workshop full of colour, creativity and magic!
Maximum of 12 participants. Free, but pre-booking essential.
