Childbirth, Postpartum, & Epidural Class

Join SGMC Health's Birthplace for an educational class covering childbirth, postpartum, and epidurals. In the first 30 minutes, learn about epidurals, exploring their benefits, risks, and potential complications. Gain insights to make informed decisions aligning with your birth plan.

The remainder of the class is designed to prepare expectant parents for childbirth and postpartum recovery, led by an experienced Women and Infants nurse. Topics covered include breathing and relaxation techniques, what to expect during the labor and delivery process, the stages of labor, and how to take care of yourself after delivery.

SGMC Health provides educational classes for expectant parents and caregivers. Classes are provided as a community service for the expectant parents in the area who plan to deliver their baby at SGMC Health.

Children are not permitted in classes. Dads are encouraged to attend all classes whenever possible. Please register for 2 if dads are attending.

Parking information - Please park in the parking deck and enter on the 2nd floor. The class is located in the Cafeteria.
