Engage in your childbirth education with interactive hands-on learning, fun activities, and informative materials to empower you from the end of your pregnancy, through labor and delivery, and into parenthood.
This evidence-based childbirth education class will provide a comprehensive understanding of:
the anatomy of the pregnant and birthing body
how to write an optimal birth (and postpartum!) plan
how your partner can actively and effectively support you in labor
ensuring informed consent with provider care
induction methods and intervention options
pain-management techniques with an emphasis on physical comfort measures
strategies for effective pushing
preparation for the unexpected – including preterm labor, NICU stays, cesarean birth, and recovering from interventions
immediate postpartum situations – including newborn procedures, initial feedings, skin to skin care, and bonding as a family
guidance for going home – introductions to breastfeeding, physical recuperation, and screening for perinatal mental health complications
Additional resources, local referrals, and an introduction to Relief will ensure you are safely equipped to navigate through this major life transition.
This class is ideal for pregnant people 28-35 weeks into pregnancy but can be taken at any time throughout pregnancy.
A partner or support person is not required but is encouraged to attend – especially for practicing comfort measure techniques during labor.
Options for attendance:
One-day, 6-hour, class OR
Three-week series; 2-hour class held once a week for 3 weeks
