Hey parents of 3 to 8-year-olds! Did you know that play isn’t just for fun—it’s also a powerful way to understand your child’s inner world? The Child-Parent-Relationship Training (CPRT) is a 10-week parenting group that guides the participants in using special play time to deepen connection, foster understanding, and help children feel truly loved and heard. Through this 10-week process, you’ll transform your relationship with your child. The program is designed for parents of children aged 3–8. In a small group setting, the participants learn key skills based on child-parent relationship therapy and child-centered play therapy, including reflective responding, special playtime skills, limit-setting, encouragement statements, and choice-giving skills.
Parents will also learn to conduct 30-minute child-led play sessions at home, using a kit of carefully selected toys. These “special playtimes” create a safe, accepting space where children can express themselves freely, building self-esteem, self-control, and trust.
The workshop combines didactic instruction, demonstrations of play sessions, home play sessions, and supportive supervision to help parents learn and generalize skills into daily life. Through C-P-R Training, the children feel seen, heard, and understood—laying the foundation for a secure and trusting parent-child relationship.
