Child Contact Services: What matters to the people who matter
About this Event
As we move towards the registration and regulation of child contact services from 1 April 2027, we want to hear what matters most to people working in child contact services and what that means for children, young people and families. This event is a chance to come together, share experiences and help shape our approach.
Over the two-hour session, we will share a short update on the project timeline and how we are planning for sustainable, trauma-informed change. We will also explain how lived experience will help shape the quality improvement framework. Most of the session will focus on listening to your views about what already works well to support children and families in child contact services, and what could help in the future. Your views will directly inform what we do next.
Who is the event for?
This event is for people who work in child contact services. This includes staff, volunteers, managers, board members and owners.
How long is the event?
We have allowed two hours for each event so there is space for discussion and time for reflection.
Do I need to do anything beforehand?
No. You do not need to prepare anything in advance. We want to hear about your experiences and learn more about what child contact services look and feel like.
Information about in-person events
During the event, we will use AhaSlides to gather your views. To take part, you will need a web-enabled device, such as a phone or tablet. We will also provide writing materials if you would prefer to contribute in that way. Recording views in these ways helps make sure everyone has an opportunity to be heard and reduces the risk of information being lost or forgotten. You can take part in the way that feels right for you.
