About this Event

In 1930 Scotland sent a team of 19 athletes to Hamilton, Canada, to compete in the first British Empire Games. In 2026 Scotland will be represented by over 170 competitors at the 23rd Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The University of Stirling is the home of the Commonwealth Games Scotland Archive which preserves a detailed record of almost a century of sporting competition. Join Karl Magee, the University Archivist and Richard Haynes, Professor of Media Sport, to learn about the history of Scotland at the Commonwealth Games through 10 key items from the archive.
