Booth's ATA Martial Arts in American Fork has announced plans for a community Child Safety Open House. The Open House is part of ATA Martial Arts’ worldwide initiative to help minimize the risk of child abduction through education. With active membership exceeding 350,000 worldwide and 1,200 schools in the U.S. and abroad, ATA is positively positioned to reach children and adults with the message of abduction prevention.

As part of the safety campaign, ATA has partnered with AMBER Alert.gov to increase AMBER Alert notification via e-mail and personal communication devices. Once an AMBER Alert is issued, AMBER Alert.com uses state-of-the-art technology to notify its subscribers of a missing child in a specific area.

According to local ATA instructor Benjamin Booth, education is the key to child safety. “Children of all age, gender and race are vulnerable to child abduction. Through age appropriate instruction, awareness of warning signs and ID activities such as fingerprinting, collectively ATA schools around the world hope to have a significant impact on reducing the risk of child abduction and victimization”, says Mr Booth.

What Our Students are Saying...

“It has helped me feel much stronger and much more healthy and it has also helped me understand that if I put my mind to it, I can do it. It has also helped me understand that if anyone tries to hurt me I can defend myself. I guess it gets easier each time you do something that used to make you scared.”

Jamie Pruim - Peoria, AZ

“I am proud to be a part of Taekwondo. I have learned many things from my instructors. One is how to deal with bullying.

I have learned how to have self confidence and discipline. Fear none but respect all.”

Herschel Alexander - Memphis, TN

What Our Parents are Saying...

“Our son had low self-esteem with no desire to attend school due to some bullying. With time, the kids at his school became aware that he was in taekwondo and the bullying stopped. Just like that, my son’s life changed completely. His focus changed, his self-esteem changed, his attitude changed, and he was just overall a happy kid! I’m eternally thankful for the values they have instilled in my son.”

The Navarro Family - San Diego, CA

“Because of the Bullying Prevention Program my son knew he would be able to physically defend himself if needed, but he was able to use the program and there was no physical confrontation needed. This to me is very impressive as he is not yet 8 years old. “

Buddy and Heather Allen - Thomasboro, IL
