Foraging was an important part of the diet for people living all over the world in the middle ages. Whether your persona would hunt for themselves or send out a servant, what foods would you be able to find locally? What tools would be needed to harvest? What was the “truffle” of your time period and location? Feast will feature recipes based on “foraged” foods! (full ingredient list with allergens coming soon). Steel and Rattan will host the Traditional Chieftains tourneys, with other fun as decided by the marshals. We will have two A&S competitions: Croft to Castle, a team based competition hosted by Sir Kirk and Mistress Rochwen, more details to follow (think sheep to shawl, but with each person doing a different step in the project!) Second: Foraging in any Medium: Foraging was a huge part of medieval daily life, so we want to show this off in any way we can! Make bread with wild yeast, make an illumination of foraging, make ink with bark or other foraged materials…
