About this Event

ChickQuest: A Classroom Journey Through the Life Cycle of Chickens

This 4-H School Enrichment Program challenges K–5 students to use science, engineering, and technology to investigate the life cycle of an embryonic chicken egg. From monitoring living eggs to observing fluffy chicks, these hands-on activities build curiosity, collaboration, and unforgettable classroom moments.

Only two workshops are offered this school year: October and April. Registration is limited to Ohio elementary teachers and extension agents, so save your spot early.

In this 1-day professional workshop, teachers learn hands-on activities designed by teachers for elementary scientists, and leave with everything needed to bring ChickQuest to their classroom:

  • Teacher guide
  • Set of 25 student log books
  • Incubator and egg turner
  • Fertilized egg coupon
  • Experiment supply kit
  • Lunch and 0.7 CEUs

"ChickQuest is one of the best teacher programs I've been involved in. The enthusiasm was contagious." —a teacher, Bexley City Schools

Provided by the Ohio Soybean Council, Meyer Hatchery, and OSU Extension for the 2026-2027 school year.
