Chicago - Parenting Workshop

Join us in Chicago on February 15th and/or 16th for a parenting workshop tailored specifically for parents of teenage children. The workshop will be led by special guests Shaykh Amer Jamil and Sumbla Qureshi, who have been flown in from Glasgow, Scotland, to share their expertise. This two-hour session will include a Q&A, followed by an opportunity for a one-on-one consultation with the instructors.

You only need to attend one session to participate.

This parent-focused workshop for parents of teenagers is designed to prepare and empower you with the tools and confidence to help your children navigate modern challenges. We will focus on unlocking the secret in reaching your child’s subconscious in this workshop.

We will discuss how to parent children involved in Gang culture/violence, LGBTQ+, transgender, disrespecting parents, RSE(relationship & sex education), and much more. We will follow with Q&A and a chance to schedule one to one’s with our instructors.

Instructor Bios -

Shaykh Amer Jamil:

Born and brought up in Glasgow, Scotland. Amer Jamil holds a law degree from Strathclyde University and BA (Hons) in Islamic studies from the University of Wales. He spent a decade studying the Islamic sciences including 5 years with scholars in the Middle East (Syria and Yemen), gaining him teaching licenses (ijaza) in various Islamic sciences. His main field of interest and specialism is Islamic family law. He is also a certified NLP practitioner and has a certificate in counseling skills. For over 15 years he has been offering bespoke advice via 1 to 1 consultations on marital and family issues.

In 2009 he co-founded an award-winning organization – iSyllabus; an Islamic studies institute and is currently the project director of the program. Since 2020 iSyllabus has gone fully online.

Sumbla Qureshi:

A Parenting Expert with 30 Years of Practical Experience.

For over thirty years, Sumbla has been a trusted guide for countless parents and caregivers, offering a methodology firmly grounded in Islamic principles.

Her approach is uniquely simple yet deeply effective, standing out especially when tackling challenges like addiction, social media use, gender identity, and interactions with law enforcement. Sumbla’s techniques consistently drive transformative change in young lives.
