Chicago Journalism Unity Picnic

Gather with fellow journalists to enjoy free food and build community at the Unity Picnic, organized by Chicago journalism advocacy groups.

The Chicago chapters of the Asian American Journalists Association, the National Association of Black Journalists, the South Asian Journalists Association, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists, the Chicago Journalists Association and the Chicago Headline Club invite you to a journalism advocacy picnic, sponsored by the Field Foundation.

We'll be celebrating our community's rich diversity and the ways in which we can continue to work together to strengthen journalism and media in Chicago! Join us for free food, networking and a chance to get together with friends and colleagues. We'll be located on the eastern portion of Promontory Point near the Field Hous - look for colorful helium balloons if you're having trouble finding us. We also encourage people to bring picnic blankets/folding chairs and make sure to dress for the September weather - bring a cardigan as it can get a little chilly by the lake in the evening!
