Chiaroscuro Open Rehearsals / Auditions

During the months of January, June and September, Chiaroscuro opens its rehearsals to men who are interested in singing with us. We rehearse from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm on TUESDAYS in September through May and on MONDAYS from June through August.
We are an adult male tenor-bass chorus. We welcome men who love to sing in harmony, are able to match pitches and who are willing to work outside of rehearsals to learn a part. Although the ability to read music is desirable, it is not required. We provide a link to recordings of your part when you are admitted to our membership.
When you come to an Open Rehearsal / Audition you’ll spend your time singing with our chorus. You will find us welcoming. After rehearsal, if you are still interested in joining us, our director will have you sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” (with accompaniment) alone or with other new members, to test your pitch matching ability.
During our performance season (September through May) we prepare for upcoming concerts. Our concert schedule usually includes a concert in December, March and May. Other concerts are possible as determined by our board and performer availability.
During the summer months (June-August), we focus on developing our voices and honing our choral skills to better prepare for our regular performance season. The summer sessions are considered a bonus offered to members but are optional for participation in Chiaroscuro.
Our members pay yearly dues as well as purchase their own music and concert attire. Further details will be made available at rehearsal.
