Chess & Mates Tournament

The chess tournament will start at 10 AM and conclude at 5 PM with a lunch break of one hour (12:30 AM - 1:30 PM). The tournament will be held in the beautiful Kapittelzaal in the Saint Peter's Abbey (Sint-Pietersabdij) in Ghent.

The players will be split up into 2 categories according to strength:

• Category A is for players with less than 1500 elo (online or fide).
• Category B is for players with an elo between 1500 and 2000 (online or fide).

Both categories will play 7 rounds with a 10 minutes + 3 secondes time control.

The first three players in each category will be awarded at the award ceremony. The buchholz system will be used as a tie-breaking system. In addition, and similar to our previous tournament, prizes will be giving away through lottery during the rounds.
