Cactus & Succulent Society of America has long emphasized a simple but powerful idea: growing plants from seed is not only rewarding - it is an important part of responsible cultivation and conservation. 🌵
At our July Monthly Meeting, CCSS is proud to help carry that work forward with an energetic panel discussion on growing cacti and succulents from seed.
Our panel will bring together experienced growers from CCSS along with special guests from our wonderful sister community, the New York Cactus and Succulent Society.
We’ll explore what it takes to turn tiny seeds into extraordinary plants - from germination and early care to the lessons, challenges, and rewards that come with growing a collection from the very beginning.
Seed propagation helps growers understand their plants more deeply, expand collections responsibly, and support a culture of cultivation rather than dependence on mature plants of uncertain origin.
And because no CCSS meeting is complete without a little abundance, we’re also expecting:
🌿 a particularly rich plant swap
