CHERRY BURTON VILLAGE SHOW MOVES WITH THE TIMES

Cherry Burton Village Show celebrates its 81st year on SUNDAY 19 JULY (1pm-6pm) when it moves to a larger site at the Village Sportsfield.

Whilst retaining its traditional roots, the show based just outside Beverley, is being constantly updated to keep pace with current trends to suit all the family. As well as the numerous produce, baking and crafts entries all vying for the ‘Best in Show’ awards in the new Exhibits Marquee, there are now trade stalls, live bands, lots of children’s entertainment and exciting food outlets. 

The Charm Offensive, Emily River Thomson, The AFO Choir, Wilder Roots, Humber Wind Band and Marnie Black is CHER will be entertaining the crowds on the field, alongside Kidzone activities such as Magic Shows, Sing Song Sessions, Drum Workshops, Kids Yoga, and Scouts activities, tennis sessions, classic cars and Alpacas- all made possible by local sponsorship and lots of good-will!

 There will be plenty to eat and drink too with food outlets, stalls, Bay Horse Bar, refreshments, sports and games activities, ice cream and lots more.

One of the show organiser’s Martin Peirson added “The current show committee have given the show a real shot in the arm- it’s like a mini festival on the day! It’s remarkable value too- despite having to cover for addition costs at the new site, including more marquee hire, and facilities but we try to have something for everyone! Moving to the new site is very exciting, it gives us more elbow room and plenty of parking space! We think we do very well for a' not for profit' organisation run by a small group of volunteers!”

 A free Morning Pet Show event takes place on the adjacent Dog Exercise Field 9.30am-11.30am -though entries this year need to be done in advance rather than on the day.

The Main event kicks off at 1pm on the Sportsfield, with live music throughout the afternoon. Dogs are not allowed onto the Sportsfield.
