A walking history tour from the Tidal Basin's cherry blossoms to the White House's Lafayette Square.
About this Event

Starting from the scenic Tidal Basin at the height of the world-famous cherry blossom season, and proceeding to the National Mall & the White House’s Lafayette Square, this tour will look at the rich history of America's capital, with a special focus on the accomplishments of, and many crises faced, by Thomas Jefferson—the first President to reside for two terms in DC. Featuring his revolutionary life and times, including looks at his friends, rivals & associates Alexander Hamilton, George Mason, the Hemings family, James & Dolley Madison, George Washington, John & Abigail Adams, and others, all of whom left a significant mark on the capital, and the U.S.


MEET at the GEORGE MASON memorial near the Jefferson Memorial.


Nearest metros: Smithsonian & Metro Center. Driving to the venue is Not recommended during the festive season. It will be crowded; arrive in time.


Length: 2 to 2.5 hours.
