This July 4th, Downtown Murphy, NC will come alive for Cherokee County’s own America 250 Heritage Festival! This will be celebration of our heritage, community spirit, and good old-fashioned Independence Day fun! Starting at 4pm and nding at FIREWORKS!
Enjoy live cultural performances, music, local restaurant and retail specials, and family fun that honors our rich history while looking toward the future.
Big news for 2026…
Fireworks will be launched right from Downtown Murphy! That means the best views are right in the heart of our hometown—grab your lawn chairs, your friends, and your patriotic spirit!
But that’s not all…
The festivities begin Thursday, July 2, with a free family movie night featuring Disney's "Zootopia 2." Bounce house activities will open at 5 p.m., and the movie will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.
The celebration continues Friday, July 3, with Cherokee County's first-ever drone show. The free event will take place at dark and will feature a high-tech aerial display honoring America's heritage and freedom.
