Have you ever wondered what a Ghost kitchen is?
There’s one right in the heart of Virginia Beach Blvd, and it’s home to some incredibly talented chefs, caterers, and pastry school graduates, you may not know yet — because we don’t operate traditional storefront restaurants.
A "ghost" kitchen, also known as a commercial or commissary kitchen, is a Fully permitted, licensed and insured professional kitchen, just like any restaurant you dine in. The difference?
There’s no dining room and no front sign — just chefs focused on the food. Contrary to popular belief, a ghost kitchen is NOT someone cooking out of their house(that's not health department permitted). The chefs who utilize a commercial kitchen meet the same health department standards, inspections, and food safety requirements as restaurants and food trucks.
The chefs, & bakers, even sauce (bbq, hot sauce etc.) makers who choose to work from a commercial kitchen want to deliver high-quality food without the overhead and responsibility of running a full restaurant.
Some of our featured chefs operate food trucks and are required to prep in a licensed kitchen. Others, like our featured formally trained pastry chef, are just beginning their journey — but their talent speaks for itself.
Because we aren’t visible like a traditional restaurant when you drive by, we’re inviting you for our first Pop-Up Chef Showcase, and we’d love for you to experience our menus firsthand.
This event will feature indulgent desserts from a formally trained pastry chef, alongside a highly rated soul food menu, From a NYC 5 star rated caterer just relocated to Hampton roads. The Soul food menu features favorites like classic four cheese mac & cheese and signature filled empanadas — from jerk chicken and New York–style chopped cheese to elevated options like shrimp and lump crab scampi empanadas.
To introduce ourselves to the community, this pop-up is offered at a special discounted rate:
$25 per entree, which includes one full entrée, a drink, and dessert, plus an additional 10% event discount for various pastry desserts when available.
