CHECKMATE: The Play

CHECKMATE is the culminating event of YASU: Young Artists of Savannah United, a program offered by the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement. Eight young artists have come together to present a powerful story that sheds light on youth violence and sparks critical conversations about the challenges facing Savannah’s young people. CHECKMATE aims to be a catalyst for change, showing the community how youth can be part of the solution through the power of the arts.
