February is Black History Month, a month dedicated to honouring and celebrating the accomplishments of Canadians of African descent. Please join The Municipality of Chatham-Kent, The Buxton National Historic Site & Museum, The Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society & Black Mecca Museum & The Josiah Henson Museum of African Canadian History on Friday, January 30th as we kick-off Black History Month with a Flag Raising at the Civic Centre in Chatham at 12:00pm.This is an opportunity for us to celebrate together and pay homage to our many ancestors who showed great resilience on their journey to freedom and to celebrate the countless individuals who are still continuing their to build their legacies. ALL are WELCOME!
