Chasing the Next Level: College Track & Field Recruiting Workshop
About this Event
Talent alone doesn't get recruited. Every year, athletes with college-level marks get overlooked — not because they aren't good enough, but because their families didn't know how the process works. This workshop fixes that in one Saturday.
This is not a seminar. Your athlete will:
- Build a real 15–20 school target list, sorted by reach, competitive fit, and strong fit
- Draft an actual email to a college coach — and learn what makes coaches open one and delete another
- Practice a live mock recruiting call
- Hear from people who make recruiting decisions and athletes who've been through it
- Leave with a written 90-day action plan
Parents attend free (up to 2 adults per athlete) and get information on scholarships, financial aid, cost of attendance, and comparing offers.
Every family takes home a recruiting toolkit: workbook, parent guide, recruiting board, coach email templates, financial aid FAQ, and more.
Who it's for: High school track & XC athletes (sophomores–seniors) and their parents. All events, all levels — NCAA D1/D2/D3, NAIA, and NJCAA paths covered. You do not need to be a Cheetah athlete to attend.
What does it take to receive a scholarship? Honest answer: performance is only part of it. Track is an equivalency sport — most offers are partial, and coaches award money based on conference scoring potential and roster need. We break down the whole equation on Sept 12.
Schedule: Check-in 10:30 AM · Workshop 11:00 AM–3:30 PM
Refunds: Full refund through September 5; transfers to another family anytime after.
Led by Cory Ray and hosted by Oklahoma Cheetah Track Club.
