Charm City Junction

Charm City Junction is a Baltimore-based acoustic quartet whose music lives at the crossroads of Irish, Old Time, and Bluegrass traditions—reflecting the rich musical heritage of a city where these styles have long intertwined and evolved. Formed in 2014 from informal living-room sessions among friends, the band channels dance-driving rhythms, soulful melodies, and adventurous musicianship into a sound that is both deeply rooted and distinctly their own. The group features Patrick McAvinue on fiddle, Brad Kolodner on clawhammer banjo, Sean McComiskey on button accordion, and Alex Lacquement on upright bass, each bringing their own musical background and perspective to the band’s evolving sound. Known for captivating, high-energy performances that keep audiences guessing where the music will go next, Charm City Junction has appeared at major festivals including Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, the National Folk Festival, Old Songs Festival, the American Folk Festival, and the Kennedy Center. Their latest album, Salt Box (2024), debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts, further establishing the band as a compelling force carrying tradition forward while continuing to push it into new territory.
