About this Event
Join the Tahoe Truckee School of Music and the Truckee-Donner Historical Society for a one-night-only benefit showing of Charlie Chaplin's classic silent movie "The Gold Rush" on the big screen accompanied by Vintage (and Not-Quite-So-Vintage) Ragtime Piano, Barbershop and Guitar playing.
Filmed on location in 1924-25, "The Gold Rush" was inspired by tales of woe in the wilderness, boom towns, gold mines, the Klondike and the Donner Party. Tragedy, comedy and true love come to life with a cast of memorable characters including Chaplin himself in his famous persona as The Little Tramp.
Come see Truckee as it used to be! This is an evening you will never forget. Audience participation and costumes encouraged.
