Stand By Me is a coming-of-age story about four boys who embark on a journey to find the body of a missing boy, discovering friendship, courage, and self-awareness along the way.
Set in the summer of 1959 in the fictional town of Castle Rock, Oregon, the film follows Gordie Lachance, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp, and Vern Tessio, four twelve-year-old friends. When Vern overhears his older brother discussing the discovery of a dead boy named Ray Brower, the boys decide to locate the body, hoping to gain recognition as local heroes
As they travel along the train tracks and through the woods, the boys face physical challenges such as crossing a dangerous trestle bridge and navigating a junkyard, as well as emotional trials stemming from family issues, personal insecurities, and the pressures of growing up.
