WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?
What's a Witches' Ball about? This community event offers fun and fellowship in a safe space. Not everyone present is a witch, or even pagan. Many loving and supportive souls from all or no faith practices have come together over the years to create something special.
However, a Witches' Ball is the common name of a very particular modern observance. Many pagans, though they frolic in the fun of modern Halloween scares and candy, still hold this time of the year sacred. As worshipers of nature, pagans are very much in tune with the cycles, seasons, and significant points on the wheel of the year.
Now is a time to prepare in practical ways for the dark half of the year and it's coming cold and hardships. But more than that, pagans remember and honor their ancestors as the veil between the worlds of the living and dead grows thinner. It is at this most auspicious and appropriate time pagans receive messages from their beloved dead. One needs only to listen.
CEREMONIES/RITUALS:
Feel free to actively participate, just observe from a distance, or even step away into the next room. We do ask you refrain from filming or photography, and to be respectful throughout the entire ritual.
