Learn the Charles Bargue Drawing Techinque!
All Art Supplies + Book Included with this Class
Charles Bargue introduced a drawing technique class in the 19th Century that became the standard for elite Art schools throughout Europe. All students were required to complete this course before moving onto painting in any medium. Today this course is normally only available through expensive Atelier Schools. Most classic artists we know used this method! (Van Gogh Rembrandt DaVinci etc)
Using Bargue’s iconic plates and drawings as reference you can learn to accurately replicate complex images onto paper or canvas – focusing on proportion perspective and value. You will learn how to divide the face or drawing into different parts for accuracy and thus learn how this course works to “sharpen your eye” to see and copy any image!
Max of 15 students - All Skill Levels Welcome - 18 and older please.
The class is four hours of learning with a 30-minute lunch break. (students provide their own lunch) We will complete one drawing that you can be proud of! (10:30 – 3 pm)
Class Fee includes ALL supplies:
Bargue Book: “Cours de Desin” paper set of charcoal pencils sharpener kneadable eraser sandpaper protractor ruler foamboard for drawing and more
