“Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Kent County harnesses the power of community volunteers to provide essential best-interest advocacy for children in foster care. CASA of Kent County recruits, screens, trains, and provides ongoing support for volunteer advocates who speak on behalf of children in family court. Volunteers form relationships with and help represent the needs and wishes of the children that they serve to the judge on each case. Children with a CASA volunteer receive more services, have fewer foster care placements, perform better in school, and report significantly higher levels of hope. They also reach placement in a safe, permanent home more quickly."
