About this Event
Thank you for your interest in the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) Abseil Fundraising event on 25th May at Woodcroft Quarry. SARA is a volunteer lifeboat and inland search and rescue charity, with 7 lifeboat and rescue stations along the length of the River Severn. In 2021 SARA was called out 113 times. For more information see: https://www.sara-rescue.org.uk/
There are various time slots between 10am and 3.30pm. You will be on site for at least an hour from your time slot. Please arrive 30 minutes before your allocated time slot to ensure the paperwork is completed.
To take part, you MUST COMPLETE the Participant Information Form which will be emailed to you and must be sent back at least 48 hours before the event starts (email to [email protected] ). Ideally bring a signed copy on the day too. You will also be sent a file containing information from Borderlands Outdoors who are running the abseil.
The minimum donation for this is £50.
If you would like to donate more, thank you, please see: https://www.sara-rescue.org.uk/donate/ and let us know [email protected] so we link it up to the abseil! If you'd like to get yourself sponsorship from friends and family you could set up a Justgiving page (https://www.justgiving.com/sara-rescue)and contact [email protected] for a fundraising pack.
We are grateful to instructors from Borderlands Outdoors (https://www.borderlandsoutdoor.com/) for giving up their time for free to support SARA.
Parking for the event may be possible in a field close to the entry to the quarry, but this is weather dependent and you will be emailed if this is possible. If it is not, please park responsibly roadside.
There are NO toilets at Woodcroft Quarry.
If you are after refreshments, The Rising Sun pub and The Cafe on the Hill are both closeby (Memorial carpark can be used for the cafe)
