If you’ve ever wanted to draw a portrait using traditional methods — without grids or tracing — this workshop is for you. In this fully guided session, Cindy MacDonald will introduce the materials, methods, and techniques she uses to draw a simple, realistic charcoal portrait from scratch. The workshop covers the Andrew Loomis approach, along with core concepts such as measuring, facial features, large and small shapes, value, edges, line, and shading. With step-by-step tuition throughout, even those new to charcoal will be supported to achieve a strong likeness. Some prior drawing experience is recommended. ALL materials provided.
