Character Building: Improv Comedy at The Highwire Center
About this Event
Tonight's lineup is:
Flannel Demon: It's been said that demons aren't social creatures. It's also been said that they're unfashionable. Despite these misconceptions and against all odds, in 2024, a stylish coterie of demons joined forces in the land of the living and spawned something no demons had ever spawned before: an improv troupe. Thus, Flannel Demon was forged, and those dapper demons will continue to grace the aboveground world with their revolutionary, comedic chaos until they eventually get dragged back down to Hell.
Plot Twist: Plot Twist is an improv team whose style runs the gamut. With a ten-actor rotating roster, Plot Twist prioritizes collaboration and adaptability in every scene. Their shows feature detailed character work, unexpected heightening, absurd world-building, and a sharp game sense. Plot Twist performs both short and long-form improv and has custom Plot Twist openings!
What is an improv show, exactly?
Improv is live theater created spontaneously by the performers with the inspiration of the audience. Unless noted otherwise, it’s a comedy show, made even more exciting, intriguing, and hilarious by the fact that none of it is pre-scripted! At an improv show you’ll see a wide range of creative and fascinating humans perform a highwire act by making comedy out of thin air! It can take many forms, including short competitive games, slice of life scenes, and full length sitcom or movie style performances!
A Highwire Improv show is truly a once in a lifetime performance, never done before and never to be done again!
