We will be back at Loring-Greenough House for our March reading!*Max Heinegg* is the author of Good Harbor, which won the inaugural Paul Nemser Prize from Lily Poetry Review Press. His second book, Going There, was published by Lily in 2023. A chapbook about teaching, Keepers of the House, was released in 2025. A new book, At the Art of War, will be released in late 2026. His work has appeared in 32 Poems, The Cortland Review, Thrush, Nimrod, and The Night Heron Barks, among others. He has taught English in the Medford Public Schools since 1998, and he is the Poet Laureate of Medford for 2025-2027. His poems have won the Sidney Lanier Poetry Award, the Emily Stauffer Poetry Prize, and been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, and a 2025 Boston Music Award for Spoken Word.
Max is also a singer-songwriter whose records and adaptations of poems from the public domain can be heard at www.maxheinegg.com He lives in Medford, MA with his wife and two daughters and Winnie, the cat.
*Vijaya Sundaram* was the second Poet Laureate (2023-2025) for the City of Medford, Massachusetts. Her first collection of poems, Fractured Lens, was published in 2023 by Červená Barva Press. Originally from India, she is now based in Medford, MA. Aside from poems, she has written short stories, plays and a short (unpublished) novel. She is also a musician, singer-songwriter, amateur digital artist, and educator. Her poetry and short pieces have appeared in publications like The Rising Phoenix Press, The Stardust Review, and TELL Magazine, among others. She has read her poems at poetry events in and around the Boston and Greater Boston areas, and currently runs an Open Mic for Poetry and Original Song at the Arts Collaborative Medford, as well as a Medford Poetry Club at the Medford Public Library.

Suggested donation: $5 or whatever you can afford. (We mean this. We would rather have you than your money.)
Light refreshments are served after the readings and open mic.
Parking Information: The Loring Greenough House has a small parking lot. Please try not to park on the grass. There is nonrestricted street parking and a large, free public parking lot off Centre Street between Burroughs and Thomas Streets just a block from the Loring Greenough House.
Public Transportation: Loring Greenough is on the #39 bus line and is about a 12 minute walk from both the Green Street and Forest Hills stations on the Orange Line.
