Chaoba Thiyam is a folk singer-songwriter, sound artist from Manipur, Northeast India. He is the creative director of SIYOM, an art space and heads a folk-based band under the same name dedicated to exploring sound, story, and community.Rooted in the tradition of Pena storytelling and the rich folk heritage of Manipur, hissongs and music reimagine folk narratives through contemporary expression breathing a new life into ancient poetry and folk wisdom.His works transcend language and age, inviting listeners into reflections on truth, ecological consciousness, cultural memory, ancient wisdom and artistic freedom.
